Matt Rempe was back in the lineup earlier this week after a short and uneventful AHL stint with the Hartford Wolfpack. While many people thought he would stay there for a while, the Rangers decided to bring him back, only to leave him on the bench for most of the game.
On October 29th, the Rangers faced the Washington Capitals for the first time since they swept the team in the first round of last year's playoffs. New York lost 5-3 against Alex Ovechkin, who scored two goals on Igor Shesterkin.
As for Rempe, he was on the ice for 5:01 in the game but still managed to drop the gloves, for the first time this season. In his first shift of the game, he was sent to the floor by Capitals heavyweight Dylan McIlrath.

After such criticism, it'll be interesting to see how Rempe bounces back and how the Rangers decide to use him.
Stay tuned as we'll keep a close eye on Rempe and the New York Rangers over the coming weeks.
