The Winnipeg Jets eager to bounce back from their first loss of the season to the Toronto Maple Leafs hit the ice in Detroit on Wednesday night looking for redemption. With a strong start the Jets built a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period only for the Red Wings to come out firing in the second.
Midway through the period Jets defenseman Dylan Samberg was called for interference giving Detroit a power play.
Detroit capitalized on the opportunity scoring to make it 3-1 & sparking frustration on the Jets bench. Head coach Scott Arniel visibly upset with the penalty call erupted in a fit reminiscent of a classic John Tortorella moment, yelling at the referees over what he saw as a questionable decision. His animated reaction caught the attention of the crowd, adding fuel to an already intense game.

Unfortunately for Arniel and the Jets, the momentum did not swing back in their favor. Detroit struck again on a second power-play goal cutting Winnipeg's lead down to just one at 3-2 by the end of the period.
Though the Jets managed to stay ahead, Arniel's fiery reaction highlighted his frustration with the officiating and the Jets' sudden defensive lapse. With tensions running high and Detroit closing in, the final outcome of the game was uncertain, and fans were left wondering just how much further Arniel's patience would be tested.
