After rumours began heating up in recent days, the Ottawa Senators have now officially moved veteran forward Vladimir Tarasenko.

Vladimir Tarasenko headed to a Stanley Cup contender

After landing on the New York Rangers at the deadline a year ago, Tarasenko has now been moved to another contender, this time landing with the Florida Panthers.

Tarasenko traded to the Florida Panthers. Draft picks expected return.

The 32-year old has 17 goals and 41 points in 57 games played this season, and will now add another element to an already loaded Florida Panthers roster.

In return, it's expected that the Senators will get two draft picks as compensation, and given that he was simply a late summer signing, this has worked out brilliantly for the Senators.

This isn't the only deal that the Panthers are expected to make at the deadline, but it's a massive one to start with, and makes them even more dangerous in the tough Eastern Conference.
