Claude Giroux and his wife, Ryanne, had an unexpected start to their Wednesday when their car was stolen from their home in Ottawa.

Ryanne shared the news on social media, hoping someone in the community might have seen something or could offer advice on tracking down the vehicle. In a frustrated but lighthearted response, Claude confirmed the situation with a facepalm emoji in a reply to his wife's post, which quickly gained attention online. The Ottawa Police responded 37 minutes later, offering their help after the Girouxs had initially struggled to reach anyone for assistance.

This incident comes just as Claude is preparing for his third season with the Ottawa Senators. He signed a three-year, $19.5 million contract before the 2022-23 season and has been a key player for the team, playing all 82 games last season with 21 goals and 43 assists.

At 34, Giroux has strong ties to Ottawa, having spent his junior hockey years in the region. While the car theft is a setback, Giroux remains focused on his career and helping the Senators succeed. Hopefully, his car will be recovered soon so he can move forward without further distractions.
