General Manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins Kyle Dubas announced on Monday that the team has placed 24 year old defenseman Dmitri Samorukov on waivers.
This appears to be a move to free up some of the log jam on the back end. The 6-foot-3, 188-pound blueliner has 5 points in 15 AHL games this season. He has suited up in three career NHL games over the past two seasons with the St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers.
Samorukov was originally drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft.
