NHL insiders Darren Dreger and Chris Johnston are both reporting a potential trade involving Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jake Guentzel.
Both Dreger and Johnston state that Penguins GM Kyle Dubas anticipates finalizing a trade involving Guentzel by tomorrow evening, which is two days before the NHL's trade deadline.
Guentzel is arguably the biggest trade chip in play and NHL insider Elliotte Friedman recently reported that multiple teams have expressed interest in acquiring the talented winger.
Guentzel, aged 29, earns $6 million annually on his contract, which is set to expire this upcoming offseason. He's expected to be a rental player after being moved.
Stay tuned for more updates.
