Needless to say, almost every day we were seeing a big name player be put on waivers for a chance to get claimed by another team, and a lot of players did.
Today the Maple Leafs decided to put a former top prospect on waivers, for the purposing of sending him to the AHL.
When a player is drafted in the top 2 rounds, they have a lot of pressure to become NHL players, and sometimes it works out, and sometimes they did not receive the development needed.
That is the case for this player who was the 2nd round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks back in 2013.
Carl Dahlstrom has played on 3 different teams in his short NHL career. Recently he has been in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, and got called up from the AHL due to some team injuries.
He did not get any game play though in his time being called up and has now been placed on waivers to send him back to the AHL.
