Ryan Reaves is known as one of the best fighters in the NHL and a Canadiens forward wants a second shot at Reaves after being defeated the first time.

Pezzetta's History with Reaves

The historic rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs seems to be alive and well, thanks to recent remarks by Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta. Pezzetta has a history with Ryan Reaves dating back to when he was a rookie. In their first encounter, Reaves emerged as the winner.

Despite losing to Reaves, both players have gained experience. Pezzetta received praise for holding his own. Now that Reaves is on a rival team, Pezzetta is eager for a possible rematch.

Pezzetta Challenges Reaves

During training camp, the subject of the Maple Leafs came up. Pezzetta, aware of Reaves joining Toronto, is excited:

"When I heard Reaves was signing with Toronto, I was excited. I'm someone who likes to play hard, so when there are guys like him on the other side, it makes things more interesting."

"You never know. Maybe I'll get another chance to fight him, and this time it'll be better." - Michael Pezzetta, Journal de Montreal

Pezzetta also explained why a rematch might go differently:

"I don't know about you, but I was at center ice at Madison Square Garden, I'd gotten my first point two games earlier and my first goal the game before that. So that fight with him, for me, was a lot of fun." - Michael Pezzetta, Journal de Montreal

Beyond Reaves, Pezzetta discussed his personal growth during the offseason, focusing on improvements to become more effective for the Montreal Canadiens:

"I've improved my skating. My body is more explosive. Being quicker on my starts and more comfortable when I get the puck will enable me to be more effective in my role. When I touch the puck, I need to already know what I'm going to do with it, rather than thinking about it once it's on the blade of my stick." - Michael Pezzetta, Journal de Montreal

This growth in technique and skill holds the promise of increased productivity for Pezzetta, crucial for the Canadiens in their battles against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the formidable Ryan Reaves.
