The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 on Monday night after a huge battle between tough guys Ryan Reaves and Corey Perry. They went at each other all night long and following the game Reaves was asked what his opinion of Perry is.

I never really liked him, to be honest. We always seem to run into each other when we play against each other, but not a lot of love for that guy. Just the way he runs his mouth, I don't know. He kind of acts tough. He's not tough.

Reaves signed a three-year deal with Toronto in the offseason

Reaves is in the first year of a three-year, $4.05 million contract he signed with the Maple Leafs in free agency. He hasn't scored any points yet in the team's first three games but has made his presence known in other areas. He has now created public feuds with two opponents early in the season.

After the Maple Leafs' 6-5 shootout victory over the Montreal Canadiens last Wednesday, he told the media a similar story about Arber Xhekaj. It seems the Maple Leafs have a deliberate strategy for Reaves to take some of the media pressure off the big stars. It's working so far.
