According to a recent issue of 32 Thoughts by renowned NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, there are indications that Nick Robertson, the Maple Leafs' prospect, is considering asking for a transfer from Toronto.
There was a time when Robertson was seen as one of hockey's most outstanding prospects, with an impressive record of 55 goals in 46 OHL matches in his DY+1 season.
There's a sense that, were it not for his health issues, Robertson would have secured a permanent place in the NHL. He has been featured in the NHL matches across three different seasons, making appearances in 6, 10, and 15 matches respectively, before either facing an injury or a demotion.
In the previous year, he played in 15 NHL and 2 AHL matches before his season was cut short. Should he maintain his health and find a new team, he has the potential to stand out as a primary player, a valuable asset for any NHL team.
Given the chance to mirror the success of his brother, who was a 2nd-round choice in 2017, Robertson has the potential to rise as a foremost forward in Toronto, joining the likes of Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.
