Canucks Forward Vasily Podkolzin left the Abbotsford Canucks in a stretcher after being the victim of a hard boarding hit from Colorado Eagles D Keaton Middleton, in which Podkolzin hits both his head and back, leaving him appearing unable to move on his own with just under 6 minutes left in the 3rd period, Abbotsford up 5-2.
According to Abbotsford News reporter Ben Lypka, Podkolzin appeared to be potentially convulsing on the ice, corroborated by other spectators at the game. Podkolzin was taken out of the arena by medical personnel.
Podkolzin later posted to his Instagram in a story, confirming he was alright following the play, although his injuries are not currently known. Any potential disciplinary action has not been confirmed.
Podkolzin, 22, a former 1st Round Pick of the Canucks back in 2019, had been having a dominant performance in Abbotsford, pushing for a potential return to Vancouver, with 7 Points in 6 Games, leading the team with 5 Goals.
