Ovechkin has secured many off-ice deals throughout his career to supplement his NHL salary. From Endorsement deals with Nike and Bauer to real estate, the legendary hockey player isn't going to be short on cash anytime soon.
Now his first home in Arlington Virginia is up for lease as his previous tenant, Erik Gustafsson, is no longer with the Capitals. While the property may seem modest compared to his current dwelling, don't expect to get it for cheap. Ovechkin is reportedly asking 9,000 USD per month for rent. For a NHL veteran like Erik Gustafsson that may be just a drop in the bucket but for the rest of us it is a steep price to pay.
For that price you get a half acre of private land, 5,000+ square feet, five bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and the honor of living in the home of one of the best to ever play in the NHL.
The Sotheby's International Realty's listing page lists the full plethora of features:
If you are expecting to meet Ovechkin in the process of renting his home though don't get your hopes up as the property is managed by a renting agency.
