Yesterday a post on Instagram started to circulate indicating that Nolan Patrick had retired from the NHL. The post referred to him as a former NHL player and now a skills coach for a company called Powerplay Hockey.
This led reports to spread that Patrick was or had retired due to his supposed new career path. However, today an NHL insider checked into the career status of Nolan Patrick and added some key context.
Today NHL insider Elliotte Friedman decided to check in with Nolan Patrick to see if the rumors were true. According to Friedman, Patrick is working as a skills coach but has not yet officially retired from the NHL.
As of now Nolan Patrick remains a free agent and will work with the next generation of hockey players while he ponders his future. If he does officially retire we will make sure to provide that update to you.
