The San Jose Sharks recently announced that Logan Couture will miss significant time with a lower-body injury.
The specific injury and recovery timeline has not been announced to this point. Couture played all 82 games last season and had 67 points as one of the Sharks' few bright spots.
The Sharks were one of the worst teams in the NHL last season. With few changes to the roster and the loss of Erik Karlsson, they are likely to still be in a rebuild mode. Even still the Sharks will be looking to see improvement from some of their young players.
Filip Zadina, Fabian Zetterlund, Thomas Bordeleau, and William Eklund are some of the young players likely to see time with the Sharks this season. With Couture out some of these players will need to take on bigger roles than expected.
If the Sharks continue to struggle this season they could look to offload some of their older players. This would include Couture if he is healthy. Sharks fans and NHL fans will continue to monitor the health of Logan Couture closely and we will provide updates as they become available.
