In breaking news, the Columbus Blue Jackets received some unfortunate news Sunday evening announcing a season ending injury for one of their promising young forwards.

Blue Jackets Lose Kent Johnson For The Rest Of The Season

Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets official site reports that Johnson will have surgery for a torn labrum, forcing him to sit out the remainder of the 2023-24 season.

This season, Johnson scored six goals and 16 points in 42 NHL games. He also contributed 15 points in 10 games with AHL Cleveland. The 21-year-old will focus on recovery during the offseason, with further updates on his status expected later in the summer regarding his availability for training camp.
