This evening during the St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning game a severe injury occurred. St. Louis Blues forward Dylan Holloway took a puck off of the neck and suffered an apparent injury. After being hit by the puck he returned to the bench for medical attention. At that point, the medical personnel including trainers determined that a stretcher would be needed to take Dylan Holloway off of the ice.
After being taken off on the stretcher Dylan Holloway was transported to the locker room. Then it was determined he would need to go to the hospital for further testing.
After those tests, it was determined that Dylan Holloway's airway was not obstructed and that he was now just at the hospital for precautionary reasons. He is now with his family at the hospital as they were at tonight's game.
While this was an incredibly scary incident involving Dylan Holloway and the St. Louis Blues ultimately it seems like a good outcome all factors considered. Now the Blues will likely be without Dylan Holloway for at least a few games. He along with fellow former Edmonton Oiler Philip Broberg have now gone down with injuries in the last week for the Blues.
We wish Dylan Holloway and his family all the best as he deals with such a scary and serious injury. As more information is provided on Dylan Holloway's injury and potential upcoming recovery we will pass along the latest news.
