The Toronto Maple Leafs have had an average start to their season and there's a lot of question marks surrounding the team. One of the issues identified is the lack of chemistry between Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews.

Maple Leafs Make A Major Shakeup Involving The Core Four

According to today's practice lines, it looks like Sheldon Keefe has had enough and he has made some major changes.

Fans have been calling for this move for over a year now and Sheldon Keefe has finally took his arrogance away and listened. There's no question Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews are gifted but it just clearly wasn't working anymore. They looked awful against the Florida Panthers last year in the playoffs and Sheldon Keefe refused to make any changes. William Nylander has been the Leafs best player this season and it's about time we see what he can do with Auston Matthews.

When Auston Matthews first entered the league, he played most of his time with Willliam Nylander. They were dynamite together and put together solid numbers. Ever since Sheldon Keefe took over the reigns as head coach of the Leafs, he's had Matthews playing with Marner for too much time and it clearly has failed. It's going to be interesting to see what happens going forward but fans should be excited to see the two best players on the team playing together.

On the other hand John Tavares put up career numbers playing with Mitch Marner and Zach Hyman so this move is worth a shot not to mention they will have the gritty and skilled Tyler Bertuzzi on their wing which is an upgrade over Hyman in my opinion.
