Islanders General Manager Lou Lamoriello, known for making significant in-season changes, has once again taken decisive action. The team has officially announced the dismissal of head coach Lane Lambert. In his place, Patrick Roy has been appointed as the new full-time bench boss.
Lambert, in his second season leading the Isles, took over from Barry Trotz, who was released after the 2021-22 campaign. Despite Lambert's extensive coaching experience alongside Trotz, there was a collective hope that he could enhance the team's offensive prowess without compromising its defensive structure.
The team's leadership has opted for a change by bringing in Patrick Roy to take charge and guide the Islanders forward.
