In a recent development, the Globe and Mail reported that five former players from the 2018 world junior hockey team have been instructed to surrender to London police in regards to the ongoing investigation. The players, all members of the gold-winning Team Canada in 2018, have been given a specific timeframe to present themselves at London police headquarters.

London, Ontario police authorities announced that further details regarding the investigation will be disclosed in a press conference on February 5, 2024.

"We understand that there is significant public interest in relation this investigation dating back to 2018. We anticipate that the LPS will hold a press conference on Monday, February 5, 2024, to share further details."

The announcement followed the indefinite leave of absence granted to these players from their respective teams. The Calgary Flames Dillion Dube, Philadelphia Flyers Carter Hart, Ottawa Senators Alex Formenton, and New Jersey Devils Cal Foote and Michael McLeod are all linked to the 2018 WJC investigation.

More details are expected to be revealed during the press conference with London police on February 5, shedding light on the ongoing investigation and potential NHL suspensions.
