According to insider Elliotte Friedman and Chris Johnston, the New York Islanders have placed forward Julien Gauthier on waivers.
Gauthier has not played in three of the Islanders' recent nine games, and in the remaining six, he failed to contribute any points. If he clears waivers, it's suggested that he could be sent to AHL Bridgeport.
Once Casey Cizikas (currently dealing with a lower-body injury) is back in action, he is expected to take Gauthier's place on the fourth line.
It was recently reported by JFresh on twitter that New York Islanders forward Julien Gauthier is the third-fastest player in the entire National Hockey League. It did not stop him from landing on waivers on Friday.
