The Ottawa Senators have put Zack MacEwen on waivers again, according to insider Chris Johnston. This is the second time this season that the experienced grinder has been placed on waivers.
MacEwen, aged 26, is under a one-way contract worth $775,000 per season. He began last season playing for the Philadelphia Flyers but was later traded to the Los Angeles Kings. He also played in one playoff game.
MacEwen, 27, has two goals and one assist in 22 games with Ottawa this season. In four games with AHL Belleville, he scored two goals.
The Charlottetown, PEI native has appeared in 208 career NHL games, scoring 15 goals with 31 points split between the Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and Senators.
