The brand Fanatics is currently under fire for making its first spelling mistake of the season on San Jose Sharks goaltender Vitek Vanecek's jersey.

Last year, the National Hockey League announced a controversial 10-year partnership with Fanatics, marking the end of an era in professional hockey. After Nearly 10 years of Adidas being the official jersey supplier of the league, commissioner Gary Bettman decided to sign with Fanatics, a brand with a big reputation for making mistakes on jerseys.

Yesterday, for the first time in the season, a spelling mistake was spotted on a jersey during a game.

The San Jose Sharks beat reporter Max Miller shared a picture taken during last night's game against the Colorado Avalanche on X, showing a mistake on the back of Vitek Vanecek's jersey. It was spelled "Vanacek" instead of "Vanecek".

Watch the picture here:

Vanecek, 28, has been in the NHL system for ten years. Drafted by the Washington Capitals in 2014, the goalie played 167 games in the NHL for the Caps, New Jersey Devils, and San Jose Sharks. This season, he and his team are yet to earn their first win. The goalie has a 0-3-0 record so far, with a 0.884 SV%, and a 3.14 goals against average.

However, the team has had its fair share of bad luck. After only one game in the regular season, they lost the services of first overall pick Celebrini to an injury. Fortunately, he was back on the ice yesterday to train and is expected to return to the lineup soon. With him back with the team, the Sharks will have a lot more chances of winning games.
