The hockey world mourns the loss of a former NHLer who sadly passes away

Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Pete Conacher and Toronto native has passed away at the age of 92.

The hockey world is remembering Conacher who played for the Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks & the New York Rangers during his NHL career. Legendary Maple Leafs commentator Joe Bowen shared a heartfelt tribute on X honoring their friendship:

''So very sad to learn this day that we have lost Pete Conacher. The former Leaf,Black Hawk and Ranger, won the 1959 World Hockey Championship with the Belleville McFarlands. A wonderful man who gave so freely of his time for good causes will be sorely missed. RIP my friend!!!''


The Maple Leafs also paid their respects with a message from their official X account expressing their condolences to Conacher's family & loved ones.

Conacher played for the Maple Leafs during the 1957-58 season recording one assist in five games. Throughout his career he totaled 86 points in 229 games. While his time with the Leafs was brief his legacy includes playing a key role in the Belleville McFarlands' victory at the 1959 World Hockey Championship.

In addition to his accomplishments on the ice Conacher was known for his kindness & generosity giving his time to various charitable causes. His passing marks the loss of a beloved figure in the hockey community.

Alongside Joe Bowen, Leafs Nation, and Conacher's friends and former teammates, we extend our deepest condolences to the Conacher family during this difficult time. His contributions to the game and his character will be long remembered.
