Vrana, 28, was originally drafted by the Capitals as the 13th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first four-plus seasons with the team before being traded to the Detroit Red Wings in 2021.
A native of Prague, Vrana was part of the Capitals' Stanley Cup-winning team in 2019, contributing three goals and five assists in 23 playoff games. Over his time with the Capitals, he recorded 76 goals and 81 assists in 284 games.
Last season, Vrana played 21 games with the St. Louis Blues, where he scored two goals and added four assists. In his NHL career, spanning 367 games across eight seasons with the Capitals, Red Wings, and Blues, Vrana has tallied 110 goals and 99 assists.
On the international stage, Vrana has represented the Czech Republic multiple times, including as part of the team that won bronze at the 2022 IIHF World Championships in Finland.
