Jeff Marek and his former 32 Thoughts Podcast co-host Elliote Friedman have finally sounded off about Marek's recent firing by Sportsnet.

Jeff Marek has long been a part of hockey fans' weekly routine as one of the hosts of Sporstnet's popular hockey podcast 32 Thoughts with Elliotte Friedman. However, fans started to worry about his position with the company after they noticed he had not appeared since the 2024 NHL Draft.

"Random question but wtf happened to Jeff Marek and why has he suddenly called off the face of the earth. They never did the wrap up 32 thoughts podcast. He hasn't been publicly heard from since the draft"

However, fans' concerns were made a reality, asa figure from Rogers Sportsnet announced that the company and Jeff Marek have parted ways. Since this news broke, JMarek has taken to social media to share his appreciation for the kindness he has received from fans who will miss his presence with the company.

"Firstly, thanks for the outpouring of kind words on Twitter/X. It really means the world to me. After 13 great years at Sportsnet, I'm moving on. It's been an incredible journey and I'm thankful to have worked alongside so many great people and played a role in bringing sports and hockey news to fans across Canada and the world. More to come soon."

Marek is not the only figure from Sportsnet who has shared his feelings on his recent firing from Sportsnet. His former 32 Thoughts Podcast co-host has now posted a heartfelt statement as well, sharing both how they started the show together, as well as showing appreciation for all he brought.

"When we started the podcast, Sportsnet asked if I wanted to do it myself or have a co-host. I liked the idea of playing off someone; @moorescottmoore suggested Jeff Marek.

It was brilliant. Jeff has his loopy suggestions, but they made for fun debates and great moments.

Life throws curveballs at you. I will miss being his teammate, and thank him for being a tremendous co-pilot on the start to our 32 Thoughts podcasting voyage which will continue."

Where Jeff Marek will go next is still a mystery to us. However, he can rely on the fact that many of his fans can expect to follow him on whatever path that may be.
