According to David Pagnotta, the Flames have completed a trade with the Vancouver Canucks sending Elias Lindholm to the Pacific Division rival.
The veteran forward has 9 goals and 32 points in 49 games with the Flames this season.
Pagnotta believes the trade has already been agreed upon. Other reporters have stated that canucks forward Andrei Kuzmenko is part of the return headed to Calgary.
Kuzmenko has reportedly had a tough time getting along with new Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet as the coach seemingly wants him to change his playstyle. As such, it makes sense that Patrick Alvin and the Canucks have agreed to part ways.
According to insider Chris Johnston, Elias Lindholm is still in transit from his bye week vacation to the NHL's all-star weekend in Toronto, so there's no extension worked out with the Vancouver Canucks for the pending UFA. After giving up major assets, you have to believe Vancouver will try everything in their power to extend him.
Stay tuned for further updates on this story as they come in.
