It was announced this afternoon that the Sharks had acquired forward Jack Studnicka from the Canucks in exchange for a 6th round pick and defenseman Nick Cicek.
This is a very minor trade although Studnicka still has some potential as an offensive player in the NHL. The 24-year-old is a former 2nd round draft pick.
The Canucks on the other hand, get a steady AHL defenseman that can be called up to the NHL in a pinch and a 6th round pick which is basically a lottery ticket.
