Rumors were going around that Zadorov wasn't happy with his ice time in Calgary. However, it seems there's more to it than that. When asked, he gave us a simple answer.
Zadorov is on the final year of a contract that paid him $3.75 million per season and is subject to become an unrestricted free agent. As for whether he wished his trade request stayed private, Zadorov said he has no issue with how it played out.
Zadorov and the Vancouver Canucks managed to beat the Flames 4-3 last night. He admitted before the game it would be a bit weird to play against his former team so quickly after the exchange.
It will be interesting to see if he signs an extension with the Vancouver Canucks. If their strong play continues, there's no reason why he wouldn't.
