The Calgary Flames have agreed to trade defenseman Chris Tanev to the Dallas Stars, as reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on Wednesday.
Tanev is the third pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) the Flames have dealt this season, following Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm, who were traded to the Vancouver Canucks separately.
Currently, the Flames are five points away from a playoff spot and are enjoying a four-game winning streak. Tanev, aged 34, is in the final year of his four-year, $18 million contract with the Flames, signed in 2020.
