The Seattle Kraken have traded center Alex Wennberg to the New York Rangers for a couple of draft picks.
Wennberg has been sidelined from the lineup due to trade-related matters, causing him to miss Monday night's game against the Calgary Flames.
At 29 years old, he's in the last season of a three-year, $13.5 million contract with a $4.5 million cap hit, set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Originally part of the Kraken expansion roster in the 2021-22 season, Wennberg has recorded nine goals and 25 points in 60 games with the Kraken this season.
