The New Jersey Devils are reportedly shopping around their 10th overall selection at the upcoming draft.
Safe to say the New Jersey Devils weren't expecting to be missing the playoffs this badly going into the 2023-24 NHL season after finishing 23rd in the league's overall standings. However, holding the 10th overall pick will allow them to either add another elite prospect to their system or trade it for immediate help, perhaps goaltending.
"If we feel it helps us now and in the foreseeable future, then, yes, I'm listening. I haven't gotten anything yet but the more I talk to teams, I say ‘Listen, I'm open to moving No. 10, but it's going to have to be something (significant).'" - New Jersey Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald
Their most obvious need seems to be goaltending. Despite doing a quick shakeup at the trade deadline by removing Vitek Vanecek and adding Kaapo Kakkonen and Jake Allen from the San Jose Sharks and the Montreal Canadiens, their still missing a true number one goaltender.
Juuse Saros, John Gibson and Linus Ullmark are all names who can be intirguing for the Devils to acquire, curious to see if GM Tom Fitzgerald trades his 10th overall pick for one of these goaltenders.
