Through six games to start his career, Connor Bedard has shown flashes of being as great as everyone expects him to be, but right now, it appears the Blackhawks believe he could use plenty of improvement.

A shocking demotion

Even after scoring 2 goals and 4 points through his first 6 games, Bedard has struggled in some areas, particularly the face-off, and now, the team are looking to potentially shelter him a little.

According to a report, Bedard will now be pushed down to the 2C role, with another young, budding star in Lucas Reichel taking over the top line role alongside Taylor Raddysh and Andreas Athanasiou.

That pushes Bedard to a line with Nick Foligno and Tyler Johnson due to the absence of Taylor Hall, and while he's still listed as their 1C, fans have clearly noticed a worrying trend that he's not playing with the best teammates.

With Hall scheduled to come back soon, there's a chance that Chicago go all in on a line of Reichel-Bedard-Hall, which would give the young star the best chance to succeed, but right now, it's a strange situation in Chicago.
