For months now, the entire NHL world has waited with baited breath to see where three-time Stanley Cup Champion Patrick Kane would end up, and now, Wayne Gretzky has given us an interesting option.
Patrick Kane to join another dynasty in Tampa Bay?
Despite being mentioned very little in the Patrick Kane sweepstakes, Wayne Gretzky on TNT ahead of the Flyers-Canucks game gave us a very interesting option, suggesting that Kane should sign with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
While it would be an interesting option, there's been no public interest shown from the Lightning towards Kane, even if he would be an incredible addition to the team.
An eight team race to land the signature of Patrick Kane
A recent report from TSN's Darren Dreger revealed that Kane was meeting with 8 teams this week, with a decision likely to come as early as next week.
While Gretzky's idea is an interesting one, it's highly unlikely, as Kane is reportedly seeking a multi-year deal, something the veteran Lightning wouldn't want to do, so instead keep an eye on New York, Buffalo and Detroit, with plenty of other teams still in the mix.
