Cédric Paré has become a controversial figure this summer, and it seems both fans and opposing players are now targeting him.

The 2024 NHL preseason has been more eventful than usual, with standout highlights, impressive goals, and unfortunate injuries. One of the most notable injuries was to Patrik Laine, who will miss the rest of the year due to a knee injury. Amidst all this Pare found himself in hot water after an incident where Canadiens enforcer Arber Xhekaj stepped in to defend his teammate leading to a physical altercation between the two.

But the heat on Pare didn't end there. In his first AHL game of the season with the Toronto Marlies, Pare was involved in another fight, this time with Djibril Toure of the Belleville Senators. After some pushing and shoving, both players dropped their gloves, but Toure acted quickly, landing a series of punches and taking Pare down in short order. This was a moment that likely brought satisfaction to many Canadiens fans still upset with Pare from the earlier clash.

While it's unclear if Pare will face this kind of treatment all season the tension surrounding him doesn not seem to be fading anytime soon. With upcoming matchups against the Laval Rocket on the schedule it will be interesting to see whether Pare continues to be targeted or if the situation begins to calm down. Either way this could be an intense season for Pare both on & off the ice.
