Tom Brady recently tried his hand at a new sport trading the football field for the ice rink. In a fun video posted by NHL veteran Tie Domi, Brady was seen learning to skate a big shift for someone known as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
Brady's skating debut shared on Instagram showed him taking pointers from Domi who offered playful but encouraging tips as Brady glided around the rink. Joining them was Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi, Tie's son. Tie couldn't resist a few lighthearted jabs joking that Brady was already catching up to Max on the ice.
It was surreal to see Brady on the ice considering his 23 year career at the top of professional football. Although he's not likely to pursue hockey seriously his focus & dedication are clearly still there showing that even retired he's ready to tackle new challenges.
This may not be a sign of any future in hockey for Brady, but it's a reminder that great athletes often keep pushing their boundaries. Fans can probably expect to see him at a charity or celebrity hockey game someday, building on his newfound friendship with the Domi family and embracing new adventures post-NFL.
