Toronto Maple Leafs PR embarrass Ryan Reaves on social media
The Toronto Maple Leafs have taken to social media and completely embarrassed their beloved enforcer Ryan Reaves.
Veteran forward Ryan Reaves known for his physical play joined the Leafs this season to add toughness to the lineup. However he's had a rocky star, with several early scratches & performances that have led fans & former NHL players to question his impact & reluctance to engage in fights to boost team energy.
Returning to the lineup on Thursday night against the St. Louis Blues, the Leafs continued a recent trend by posting a warm up picture of Reaves on social media with the game score sparking a wave of online debate. This was the second time the Leafs had tweeted a photo of Reaves in this way the first happening during Tuesday's rough 6-2 loss to Columbus. Many fans felt this was a subtle dig at Reaves implying he hasn't been contributing enough on the ice.
Thursday's game didn't go much better for Toronto, as they trailed the Blues 2-0 by the first intermission, with another warm-up photo of Reaves and the score posted by the Leafs account.
This led to more speculation about the Leafs intentions with some seeing it as a passive aggressive call out of Reaves while others believed it was just a coincidence.
While Reaves has seen limited ice time this season logging just over nine minutes & a single shot on goal his role & impact remain hot topics among fans & analysts.
