As confirmed by Leafs Head Coach Sheldon Keefe, Dylan Gambrell suffered a concussion during one of the Leafs' on-ice sessions. As of now, there is no timeline for Gambrell's return.
Gambrell signed a one-year deal with the Leafs for just over the league minimum at $775,000. He was hopeful to crack the Leaf's fourth line and was working this training camp to earn a spot on the roster amongst the excess of talent depth at Leafs' camp this year.
Gambrell played last season with the Ottawa Senators, playing in 60 games and scoring 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points. Before his time with the Senators, Gambrell spent 4 seasons with the San Jose Sharks organization.
