New York Islanders have officially claimed Mike Reilly off waivers from the Florida Panthers Elliotte Friedman reports.
Reilly has suited up for two games with the Panthers on their third defensive pairing. The Chicago, Illinois product signed a one-year $1 million contract with the Panthers during the summer.
Last season, Reilly played 10 games with the Boston Bruins, where he had one assist. He played 36 games in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins, with seven goals, 19 assists, and 26 points. He also got into one playoff game with them, where he was held pointless as Providence lost in four games in the division semifinals to the Hartford Wolf Pack.
