Fans Criticize Bettman's Decision: No NHL Games on Tuesday and Thursday
The week will be long for some hockey fans! On two occasions this week, Tuesday and Thursday, there will be no NHL games. As many know, US Thanksgiving is on Thursday so that explains the day off but why on a Tuesday?
Many fans on X (Twitter) have expressed their frustration towards the NHL.
"Why are there no @NHL games on Tuesday and Thursday this week? Trying to set my weekly fantasy rosters and noticed this crazy scenario."
"Looking ahead, why are there no NHL games being played Tuesday when we already have a day off Thursday for thanksgiving? The schedule makers are so bad at their jobs"
"#NHL Can anyone explain to me why there are no games today, on a Tuesday? I get that Thursday is a day off, with U.S. thanksgiving coming up, but couldn't we just even have 2 or 3 Canadian teams playing Thursday? What gives Mr Bettman?"

Insider Reveals Exactly Why This Is The Case
The official reason has been revealed by Jeff Marek:
"No NHL games tonight here's why... There are only three teams/building available to host games tonight – Vancouver, Calgary, Arizona.
Canadian teams get sent to the US this week for Thanksgiving Eve/Black Friday since home games this week are requested by American teams."
"Arizona did not want to play back-to-back home games Tuesday and Wednesday.
12 teams playing Wednesday, Friday, Saturday so cannot schedule a Tuesday or that would be 4 games in 5 nights.
Also, the 4 teams who went to Sweden are not available."
Although this makes sense as to why this is the case, this could have been easily avoided with better schedule management. This proves once again why the NHL is a joke. How do you expect to promote the game and attract fans when this king of stuff happens all the time.
