Phil Kessel, the 36-year-old forward and 3x Stanley Cup Champion has been actively seeking a place to play this season. According to insider Pierre Lebrun it appears that he has found a destination outside the NHL.
It looks like he might be signing in the Swiss League to get some games in and potentially join a contending NHL team closer to the deadline.
Despite his impressive track record, scoring 36 points with the Vegas Golden Knights last year, he's faced challenges finding an NHL team. Holding the NHL's Ironman streak with 1,064 consecutive regular-season games, Kessel is reportedly considering playing in the Swiss League while awaiting an NHL opportunity.
Although he was part of the Stanley Cup-winning Vegas team last season, his playoff involvement was limited. Kessel, a three-time Stanley Cup champion, has expressed the willingness to break his ironman streak if it helps his team succeed.
Kessel's future remains uncertain as he explores potential opportunities.
Stay tuned.
