While most teams will name a leadership group of 3-4 players with their captain being flanked by two or three alternate's, but in the case of New York, they've decided to go with an unprecedented six.
This came as a result of Adam Fox being added to the group that already includes captain Jacob Trouba, Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider, Barclay Goodrow and Mika Zibanejad, and it's taken social media no time to enjoy the insults.
If they can get rolling early in the season with their talented young players and experienced veterans, this will be a very fun team to watch, and come playoff time, they'll be tough to beat.
Either way, this was a very odd decision, as no team needs 25% of their roster to be captains, as leadership doesn't require a letter, but if this is what helps them moving forward, it makes sense for them.
