According to insider Elliotte Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens have picked up forward Colin White off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins. The team also announced that they have placed forward Brandon Gignac on the waiver wire.
Colin White, who is 27 years old, hasn't recorded any points in the 11 games he played this season with Pittsburgh. However, he managed to score five goals and tally 10 points in 21 games while playing for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Originally drafted 21st overall by the Ottawa Senators in the 2015 NHL Draft, White has accumulated 44 goals and 113 points in his 303 career NHL games.
He's currently under a one-year contract worth $775,000.
