In recent weeks the Buffalo Sabres have been incredibly active on the trade market and today rumblings of another trade brewing have come to light.

Kevyn Adams and the Buffalo Sabres are in a must-win season. The last two seasons have seen the team come close but narrowly miss the playoffs. With the hiring of new head coach Lindy Ruff, it is a make-or-break year for this core.

As a result, there are reports of the Buffalo Sabres continuing to make a big splash on the trade market. After trading for Beck Malenstyn and Ryan McLeod rumblings indicate the Sabres are looking to add winger Joel Farabee to their top six.

The #Sabres need more help up front. Some free agents I could see them going after: Vladimir Tarasenko, Max Pacioretty, Jack Roslovic, Dominik Kubalik, Daniel Spring, Barrett Hayton.

Trades: Patrick Laine, Nikolaj Ehlers, Arthur Kaliyev, Joel Farabee.

GMKA needs 1 more move!

With this potential move in mind several different outlets have discussed the possibility of a trade sending Joel Farabee to the Buffalo Sabres. From the Sabres side Chad DeDominicis of Expected Buffalo connected Peyton Krebs and potentially Mattias Samuelsson as the return for Joel Farabee.

Peyton Krebs is still on the Sabres roster but his role has seemingly been filled with the offseason additions.

Does a move to the wing make sense? What is their plan for him moving forward?

If the Sabres do not plan to keep Peyton Krebs then a potential trade would be ideal. However, his value has dropped due to a lack of significant opportunity in Buffalo after being part of the return in the Jack Eichel trade. As for Mattias Samuelsson, he is a strong defensive defenseman who has struggled to stay healthy in Buffalo. He also has a Philly connection as his dad Kjell played and coached for the Flyers.

As for the Joel Farabee to Buffalo half this would be exactly what General Manager Kevyn Adams and the fans have been clamoring for. He is a Syracuse native with ties to the Sabres growing up. He would bring a lot of skill to the Buffalo group and is in the same age and development path as the other Sabres stars.

As of now, there is nothing imminent between these two teams. However, this is a situation to keep an eye on as both teams are looking to make more moves before next season.
