The Americans have officially suspended Savoie. The intention behind that move is to terminate his contract, after the player requested to go back to school.

It's been reported that there's already a deal in place for Savoie to join the University of New Brunswick's hockey team.

Per Ben Steiner:

"Hearing that the UNB Reds have a commitment in place to add defenceman Nicolas Savoie for next season.

He played 21 ECHL games this season, and had a four game callup for the AHL's Rochester Americans."

Savoie was a member of the 2023 Quebec Remparts that won the Memorial Cup.
