On Saturday night, Chicago Blackhawks rookie Connor Bedard went above and beyond scoring the first lacrosse goal of his NHL career.
To make things even more interesting, Trevor Zegras also scored a lacrosse goal of his own making history as the first duo to score the michigan on the same night.
Only five players have scored a lacrosse goal in the NHL. While this is fun most fans, one former enforcer, Jay Rosehill, called out Bedard and Zegras claiming that the move will be banned very soon.
Jay Rosehill played in 117 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs and the Flyers racking up 352 career PIMs. While he may have not been the most skilled player, I'm sure he has some insights around the league and he may be hearing chatter that the NHL does not like the move.
Whether that is the case or not, the one thing that is for certain is that the move attracts fans to the game and the NHL is desperate for growth.
Just ask Gary Bettman...
